There are several digital sensors compatible for use with Time Machine. Most LogIT Microsense digital sensors are also compatible.
- SE80009 Sound Switch: Can be used to start or stop the timer when a sound is heard, which can be used for the speed of sound experiment. The sensor sends a signal to the timer when a sound is heard. It could also be used to stop the timer when someone claps their hands as in a reaction experiment.
- SE80012 Impact Sensor: Can be used to start or stop the timer on impact such as a hand or ball. The sensor sends a signal to the timer whenever it is hit. Has a centre mounted indicator LED. If you wanted to find the speed of a kicked football, you could mount the Impact Sensor onto a piece of plywood and use a sound switch next to the football to start timing. Note: The Impact Sensor is designed to record vibration and must not be hit with sharp objects or large force, as this will damage the switch.
- X22155 Light Gate (Pair): Used to detect when an object breaks the visible beam. The light gate sends a signal to Time Machine when ever the beam is broken.
